New Zealand 4

around 7a.m we already walked down to the bus station.
it was still very quiet and freezing.
everyone else was like so cheerful and chirpy...greeting everyone good morning and everything.maybe it's in their blood hahaha
so today we headed to Milford Sound

waiting at bus stop

the driver did explain about the things we  see along the way.
when we came to a beautiful spot, we stopped.

eveyone was like jumping here...taking pictures.
haishh so jealous of them.that's why u need to travel with crazy people.
i guess, what happened the day before was a blessed.
had we gone on our own, we would have not stopped at these places.

Mirror Lake.
it is said that on clear day, we can see the reflection clearly. hence the name.

walking path...juz 10 mins walk

i was lucky to be seating on the left side of the bus. managed to capture this.
the people on the right, get to see a river.

got to enjoy snow-capped mountains view.
the driver did tell a story about stoat, an animal like a weasel (do google for the pic)
that were not native here and in the end disturbed the natural population of native animals.
that is why they are very particular about the things foreigners bring into their country.
at few places we saw fallen trees.they just left it like that.
it was caused by storm.they juz remove the barks from the road.
sampai macam tu sekali taknak usik nature diorang.
kat Malaysia??? selagi boleh tebang, tebang!!
that is how much they protect & treasure their nature.
somewhere along the way, the road still uses miles instead of kilometres
in rememberance of the workers who built this road.

Gretchen Valley before going into Homer Tunnel

One way tunnel.the driver said that it has crack everywhere (yikes!)
when it rains too much, it gets flooded.

then we stopped at The Chasm.

after heavy rain, flood water rush downstream picking up pebbles and gravels that have scoured the river bed down to its bedrock.Stones that come to rest in a rocky slot are swirled round by the current.Over many centuries, they have ground out the fantastic potholes shapes that are such a feature of the Chasm.

at noon we arrived at Milford Sound. we did stop at Te Anau for coffee and toilet break.
we used Jucycruize.the ticket was like NZD119/pax.
(bus from+to Queenstown, cruise, lunch - we took salad and biscuit each,tea/coffee along the cruise)

seal sun bathing

collect lunch here.

free flow of tea and coffee.dont expect starbucks though.only 3in1 hehe

the cruise did get close to the waterfall...haha nice to be wet

on the way back, we stopped at Te Anau again.i did some shopping.bought t-shirts for my bros at NZD10 each, tote bags for my SILs and my mom. the tote was NZD 8.90.
when we reached Christchurch, it was NZD 4.90.~insert loud cry
the best part was, inside there is a label that says MADE IN CHINA...whade***
seyes hampeh tahap gaban.nak wat camne.sume tempat pun gitu

the stream that i didnt get to enjoy on the way to Milford Sound then

when u google...they will definitely suggest you to visit Milford Sound.
having been here, i dont find any interesting thing to see here.well maybe i juz dont get it.
for me, seeing the view on the way to Milford Sound was even better.
but,u never know until u experience it urself.
